Mama

Saw Mama earlier this week. It was pretty suspenseful, but it was more saddening than terrifying. The exploration of children, and their relationships to their family units, whether siblings or parents, was pretty interesting and also quite heartbreaking. Plus, as a woman, it’s always slightly unsettling to watch a film about thrust-upon motherhood and the presence of ineffectual males. Sheeesh!

  1. Every time I am forced to relive “Mama”, it makes me want to cry a little bit. Your drawing is absolutely amazing, though. Actually, the whole aesthetic of her being really made me think of some of those terrifying paintings you did way back in the Noughties! When you get the chance, you should post up your spookier works. So incredible!
